Kim Delaney has won Emmy Awards for the role of the character Detective Diane Russell. Kim Delaney is famous as the Detective Diane Russell on the ABC series NYPD Blue. She also appeared on the drama show All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. She was born as the only child of a high-ranking executive in the United Auto Workers and a housewife, Delaney had a family of four brothers. She dreamed of being a reporter for the court in childhood but started modelling while at high school, eventually earning commercials following her move from New York. Her first acting job was as a teen innocent on All My Children, a soap opera from 1981. Delaney was in numerous of TV movies, film and dramatics since then. Her professional career has been better than her personal life. The talented actor has struggled with alcoholism and she has experienced two marriages that failed. In 2005, she lost custody over her one son.
