Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on April 26th, 1991. She's an American singer-songwriter and the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. On the 21st of October, 2016 she dropped Pho, her first EP on the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she first gained notoriety. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox uploaded her music to the internet in 2012 after she released her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued to post her music online as well as her own single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as in Sweat It Out on July 21, 2015. J. Cole asked her to collaborate with him for Rihanna's reference. Then, later in the season, the music was circulating all over Dreamville. On December 28, 2008 it was revealed that Rihanna was contracted to Dreamville Records. In the record Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the track Backseat with Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016, she dropped her debut EP titled Pho. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening artist. She also appeared on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus together with Bas the label's co-founders. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video was also released on September 5th. On November 9, she released two additional singles: 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. On November 13 she then dropped two singles titled The No One and Pedigree. She appeared with Cole in The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16, and then released the song in a solo version on her debut album. The track was launched with a music video on YouTube February 20, 2019 has been watched over 3 million times within the first 7 days. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
